Kanpur: Police arrested seven people possessing counterfeit currency amounting to Rs 55,000 in Jalaun district on Wednesday. The group was actively circulating these fake notes across various districts, including Orai, Auraiya, Mathura, and Etawah.
The initial arrest was made during a police check, where they caught one youth who subsequently revealed information about his associates. This led to six more arrests and the seizure of fake currency worth Rs 55,000 along with equipment including mobile phones, a currency printer, and related materials. The police registered a case and imprisoned the suspects.
