MANILA — Authorities confiscated over 45,000 pairs of counterfeit footwear, valued at approximately P152 million, from a Chinese-operated manufacturing facility in Pampanga, police said Monday. The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Pampanga Field Unit executed a series of search warrants during an operation dubbed “Oplan Megashopper” at Global Aseana Business Park 2 in San Simon town.
The operation targeted the illegal production of counterfeit footwear.Investigation showed that the counterfeit production ring was operated by “Chongjian,” a Chinese national doing business under the name “Apexel.” The foreigner remains at large.
