At Least 11% of Russian Dairy Products Counterfeit in 2015
Up to 11 percent of all dairy products in Russia were found to be counterfeit by the country’s agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor in 2015, the TASS news agency reported Monday.
However, in some cases up to 50 percent of certain categories of dairy products were found to be counterfeit, Rosselkhoznadzor head Sergei Dankvert said, TASS reported.The higher the fat content, the higher the chance that the product is counterfeit, according to Dankvert.
Cheese and sour cream are the products which are most often counterfeit, according to Rosselkhoznadzor.
