Gold worth ₹1.11 crore seized at Calicut airport
The Air Intelligence Unit seized 2.33 kg of gold worth approximately ₹1.11 crore from a passenger who arrived on an Air India flight from Dubai at the Calicut International Airport on Monday.
Customs officials said the gold was concealed inside a new coffee maker machine. The passenger, Muhammad Shafeeque Melethil of Moorkkanad, Malappuram, was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

Gold worth Rs 17 lakh seized from Dubai passenger at Jaipur airport
JAIPUR: The customs department at Jaipur International Airport seized around 350 grams of gold worth around Rs 17 lakh from a passenger who landed here from Dubai on Friday night.
The passenger has not been arrested as the gold is within the allowed limit.
“The passenger was intercepted after thorough examination of his baggage. The gold was concealed in the form of a wire in trolley bags, wire in mouth organs, gold plates in hair straightener, clips in footwear and rings in keychains. The gold was plated with white rhodium to conceal the golden colour,” said an official.

33-year-old held with counterfeit currency in Tanakpur
Pithoragarh: A 33-year-old man, identified as Sitarganj-resident Mukhtar Ali, was arrested with more than Rs 1 lakh in counterfeit currency in Tanakpur on Friday.
“Acting on a tip-off, we intercepted the motorbike of the accused at ITI Tanakpur. Upon frisking, we found more than Rs 1 lakh in counterfeit currency on the accused. He had seven packets of fake Rs 100 notes and one packet of fake Rs 500 notes,” SHO Tanakpur Jasbeer Singh Chauhan told TOI.

The Rourkela Excise Department busted a racket involved in the illegal storage and sale of Non-Duty Paid Liquor (NDPL) following a raid at Tamada village under Chandiposh Police limits late on Friday night.
At least four persons have been arrested in this connection. The cost of the seized NDPL is said to be worth over Rs 20 lakh.
Jhasaketan Bariha, Deputy Superintendent (Excise), Rourkela said that the raid was conducted after getting information regarding illegal storage of foreign liquor at Tamada village.

2 held, gold biscuits worth Rs 20.95 crore seized in Imphal
Two persons were arrested in Imphal with 43.12 kg of gold worth Rs 20.95 crore in a major operation by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) against an organised smuggling syndicate.
According to an official statement, Guwahati Zonal Unit of the DRI carried out the operation in which one vehicle was also seized.
Acting on the basis of specific information received, one vehicle along with two occupants were intercepted by the officers of DRI Imphal Unit in the early hours of Wednesday after mounting a prolonged surveillance near Imphal city.

BOC seizes P1 billion fake goods in Makati
MANILA, Philippines — Government agents confiscated at least P1 billion worth of counterfeit items, mostly luxury brands, during a raid on a warehouse in Barangay Magallanes, Makati, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported yesterday.
The raiders seized fake designer goods labeled as Chanel, Coach, Givenchy, Gucci and Michael Kors.
The raiding team also confiscated fake products of Adidas, Bench, Calvin Klein, Fubu, Esprit, Guess, Hilfiger, Jag, Lacoste, Macbeth, Oxygen, Reebok, Tribal, Wrangler and Zara.

New Delhi: In a major operation by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) against an organised smuggling syndicate, 43.12 kg of smuggled gold valued at Rs 20.95 crores was seized on Wednesday (June 26) in Imphal, Manipur.
Two persons were arrested and one vehicle was seized in the operation that was carried out by the DRI Guwahati zonal unit.
Acting on specific information, DRI Imphal unit intercepted one vehicle carrying two occupants in the early hours of Wednesday after mounting a prolonged surveillance near the city.

Cops held 3, seize fake currency worth 3.4L
Ludhiana: Khanna police has arrested three miscreants after it recovered fake currency from them. The accused were identified as Ashu of Krishna Nagar in Khanna, Mandeep Tandon Sunny of Basant Nagar in Khanna and Vikas Vicky of Uttam Nagar in the same area.
Giving details on Monday, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Khanna Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said as part of special campaign by Khanna police against drug trafficking and misdemeanors, a police team, working on a tip-off had apprehended the accused while they were waiting near military ground Shiv Mandir Khanna to deliver counterfeit Indian currency notes to someone. He added that during frisking, Rs 3.4 lakh counterfeit Indian currency notes were recovered from their possession.
