Azerbaijani border guards prevent smuggling attempt by sea
In June of this year, border guards detained a group of criminals attempting to carry smuggled products into Azerbaijan by sea. On 19 June 2015, according to information that smuggled products would be brought from Russia by sea through the area of the SBS “Muqtadir” coastal checkpoint, the coastal zone was closed and a border guard ship began to conduct surveillance on the area. In an operation carried out on 20 June 2015 around 1:00 AM, a group of eight persons carrying on a motor boat 804 kg sturgeon, 7kg smoked fish and 2.4 kg black caviar were detained.
