Century-old Limerick tobacco shop to stop selling cigarettes
The supply of smuggled tobacco products on our streets has led to the only licenced tobacconist outside of Dublin ending its sale of cigarettes.Cahill and Sons in Limerick is one of only four retailers in the country with a special exemption that allows them to display cigarettes in their store.
It has continuously traded for 145 years but the current owner says that, with an epidemic of smuggled tobacco products on the streets, her cigarette trade is now going up in smoke.
