A routine crackdown turned into a major revelation when the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police uncovered a counterfeit Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) racket worth Rs 1.75 crore. Fake household essentials such as detergents, soaps, and mosquito coils had flooded the market. Dalpat Singh is allegedly the mastermind behind a vast supply chain that feeds small retailers.
The operation led to raids on a warehouse in Cottonpet and a manufacturing unit in Kachohalli under Madanayakanahalli police station limits, where authorities uncovered large-scale production and distribution of counterfeit products. Among the seized items were several fake popular brands of detergents, along with adulterated tea powders also falsely labeled with a popular brand name.
