Customs officials found the gold wrapped in a plastic cover and glued around the waist of his trousers.
Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad arrested a Kerala-based man and seized gold worth Rs 1.1 crore from him on his arrival from Dubai on Thursday. The gold recovered was in the form of a paste.
Officials said the flyer arrived from the UAE by the Emirates EK-526 flight around 8 am and that he was found moving suspiciously. On searching him thoroughly, the officials found gold in a paste form concealed in the waist area of his trousers. It was wrapped in a plastic cover and glued around the trousers, they said.
