Indore: Lasudia police on Tuesday uncovered an interstate fake currency racket, arresting six accused, including the gang’s mastermind. Authorities seized counterfeit notes along with equipment used to produce them.
Investigations revealed that the gang circulated more than 20 lakh rupees in fake currency across different markets. The accused rented a flat in Nagpur, where they manufactured counterfeit notes. Police suspect that the network may have links in multiple states.
On January 20, ACP Vijay Nagar, Aditya Patle, received a tip-off about a gang operating in the Lasudia area, actively distributing fake currency. The informant also revealed that one gang member was waiting near Dewas Naka with counterfeit notes.
