Prayagraj: A joint team of Jhunsi police and excise department on Wednesday arrested two persons identified as Avinash Kumar Bind (23) of Badhohi and Krishna Kumar Jaiswal (25) of Reewa (Madhya Pradesh) and seized around 6,000 fake bottle caps of branded liquor, 1,850 fake QR codes from possession. The miscreants were booked under section 420, 467 and 468 of IPC with Jhunsi police station following the seizure.
A senior police official said, “Acting upon a specific tip off, a joint team of Jhunsi police and excise department on Wednesday conducted a surprise raid near old bus stand road, new Jhunsi area and seized fake articles from their possession. The miscreants were involved in printing fake QR codes and manufacturing and smuggling of fake liquor bottle caps of prominent liquor brands. Investigations are underway.
